Blues in Wijk Foundation winner of the municipal Volunteer Award 2016

On Wednesday, 7 December 2016, the municipal Volunteer Award was presented for the fourteenth time during a joint meeting of the municipality and the Support Centre for Voluntary Work, which falls under the ‘Binding’ Foundation, in the House of the Municipality, Karel de Grotestraat 30 in Wijk bij Duurstede.

This year’s winner is the volunteers of the Blues in Wijk Foundation., who win a sum of €1,000.

Blues in Wijk has been organising blues at top level in the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede for years. In January they even got the theatre full for the presentation of their program. Of course a lot of national and international blues heroes visit Wijk. But also the cooperation with the Filmhuis, Blues at the Castle, the Blues Quiz, and Blues at the Neighbors: performances in various living rooms are worth mentioning. Also worth mentioning is the busy Blues pub crawl at the end of November.
